CLASS PROGRAMS
Faith First Legacy Edition K – 6 by RCL is a new program designed for parishes using a Spiral Learning Method. The timeless truths of the Catechism of the Catholic Church taught on every grade level more deeply and appropriately. In-depth Scripture study encourages reading the Bible and understanding its meaning today. Seasonal material for every week of Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter and Pentecost connects the Catechism and the Liturgical life of the parish.
Faith First Legacy Edition Junior High uses four individual textbooks with special Scripture study chapters interwoven throughout each of the twelve chapters. Courses will be used as follows: Seventh Grade: Mystery of God – Sacred Scripture and Tradition are the source of the faith of the Church which is grounded in the fullness of revelation that is found in the life, death, Resurrection and Ascension of Jesus Christ. Students examine the Creed as the summary statement of our beliefs. Jesus in the New Testament – The life and message of Jesus are explored in the four Gospels with emphasis on understanding and praying the Scriptures. Students are also introduced to Paul, his and other New Testament letters and the Book of Revelation.
Eighth Grade: Morality: Life in Christ – As persons created in God’s image, we are guided by the Commandments and Beatitudes to live a successful moral life. The principles of Catholic morality, including social teaching help teens make important life choices in their daily lives. Church and Sacraments – The mystery of the Church unfolds as students discover how believers take on the responsibility of continuing Christ’s work on earth. The study of the sacraments centers on how they bind us together as a community of faith.
Pathways Through Scripture is a complete overview of the Old and New Testaments that can be completed in the course of a year, teaching the entire Bible with the thorough scholarship and personal applications that Mark Link is famous for providing.
Pathways Through Christian Living help teens live the Great Commandment as they explore the Christian vision of self, God, others, life and the world.
Confirmation II students will participate in a three part curriculum of catechesis, ministry and service using the following texts: The Spirit Sets Us Free - A program that focuses on sacramental catechesis for Confirmation, emphasizing ritual, symbol and conversion. Making Hours Count - Transforming Your Service Experience guides young people in reflecting on their service experience, to help them understand the world, their own values and themselves on a deeper level.
